Dr. Md. Mohiuddin, a career civil servant, joined the Finance Division, Ministry of Finance as Additional Secretary on 8 September 2024. Prior to this position, he was Chairman, Mailing Operator and Courier Service Licensing Authority (MOCSLA), Posts and Telecommunications Division, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology.
Dr. Mohiuddin joined the Bangladesh Civil Service (Administration) in 1993. He worked in wide range of government positions in his long illustrious carrier. He hold the post of Assistant Commissioner and Magistrate, NDC, RDC and UNO in Field Administration. He served for various ministries including the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment, Information and Broadcasting, Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, Religious Affairs, Social Welfare and Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Financial Institutions Division, Ministry of Finance. He also worked as Consul (Hajj), Bangladesh Hajj Mission, Makkah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He was Director, Board of Directors of Bangladesh Oceanographic Research Institute (BORI), Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority (SERDA), Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB), Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) Foundation and Arannayk Foundation.
Dr. Mohiuddin obtained his PhD in Microfinance, Masters (First Class) and B.Com (Hons) (First Class) in Accounting from Department of Accounting and Information Systems, University of Chittagong. He also completed Professional Development Programme on Effective Governance for Sustainable Development from Macquarie University, Australia and International Training Programme on Advanced Public Sector Management for Effective Policy Implementation from Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand.
Dr. Mohiuddin hails from Chattogram and was born in a respectable Muslim family on 5 August, 1966. He is the second son of Moulana Jalal Ahmed and Mosammat Umme Kulsum. He is married to Saera Jesmin and his daughter Abira Afnan is a Flying Officer of Bangladesh Air Force and son Adib Farhan is a student of Class XII of Adamjee cantonment College, Dhaka.
